The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) is taking proactive steps to lead international discussions on choreography copyright, a relatively new area globally. In response to rising global interest in K-Choreography, fueled by K-pop's success, MCST announced the creation of an English guidebook on choreography copyright, initially released in Korean last December. This guide covers understanding and utilizing choreography copyrights, distinguishing authors, registration processes, infringement, and examples. MCST plans to distribute this guide at international conferences and events and introduce it at the upcoming World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) meeting in Geneva. The English version is available for download on MCST's website and other affiliated platforms.
