South Korean broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo recently shared on social media that he is suffering from severe laryngitis due to a cold. He expressed gratitude for the concern from his fans and assured them of his recovery. Jeon posted a photo showing him resting with a band on his neck to aid recovery. Laryngitis, an inflammation of the voice box (larynx), can be caused by viruses or bacteria and is characterized by voice changes and sometimes accompanied by cough, phlegm, or nasal symptoms. Sufficient rest and hydration can often alleviate symptoms, but those who frequently use their voice may require further treatment. Maintaining hygiene and a moist throat is crucial to prevent it. If symptoms persist over two weeks with severe complications, it might indicate a more serious condition like laryngeal cancer.
