Basquiat's 'Saturday Night' Sells for $180 Million at Hong Kong Auction

Jean-Michel Basquiat's 'Saturday Night' was sold for approximately 180 billion KRW at a Christie's auction in Hong Kong, marking the highest sale of the spring season. This piece, created in 1984, is considered a landmark in Basquiat's career. Works by Korean artists also saw considerable success, including Park Seo-Bo's 'Ecriture No.60-73' selling for the highest price among Korean entries. In total, 41 out of 43 exhibited pieces were sold in the auction, which included works by international artists like Yayoi Kusama and Zao Wou-Ki.
