New Korail Tourism Development CEO pledges to create new value in travel

Song Kwang-seok was appointed the 15th CEO of Korail Tourism Development, the tourism subsidiary of Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail). At his inauguration in Yongsan, Seoul, he pledged to build a sustainable railway tourism company balancing public duty and profitability. He outlined six priorities: field-oriented management, boosting railway tourism competitiveness, better customer service, cooperation with local communities, safety, and responsible management. Song plans to expand products that link rail travel with regional attractions and develop more stay-based travel programs, while improving digital and onboard services. He has a background in the media industry and served as a nonexecutive director of Korea National Railway.
