Seoul’s Eunpyeong Dance Center Marks 1st Anniversary with International Contemporary Dance Season

Seoul Arts & Education Center Eunpyeong, a public venue dedicated to dance, will present a four-month fall–winter season from September 5 to December 13 to mark its first anniversary. The program brings together international contemporary choreographers from Italy, Japan and the United States, including Bigi Paoletti Fritz Company’s That's All Folks! (Oct 10–11), Hiroaki Umeda’s Doutai Method (동체 방식) workshop for dance majors (Oct 13–18), and U.S. company DTSBDC (Oct 30–31). Korean choreographers and award-winning companies (e.g., 99 Art Company and 춤판야무) will premiere new works, and research-based Ghost Group and emerging choreographers will share stages. The center collaborates with major domestic festivals—Seoul International Dance Festival (SIDance), National Dance Festival and Seoul Dance Festival—and offers community programs like generation-tailored movement classes (Seoul Citizen Arts School Eunpyeong), a permanent ceramics exhibit about dancers’ bodies titled “U.F.O,” and a “Cafe Move” space. The season aims to deepen public engagement with dance and foster international and local artistic exchange.
