Fashion platforms in Korea are partnering with card companies to issue PLCCs (private label credit cards) to lock in loyal shoppers. Zigzag launched a PLCC with Shinhan Card that gives 15% back as Zigzag points on platform purchases (up to 20% in September promotional month) and 10% back at partner cafes, department stores, major supermarkets, and duty-free shops; new cardholders get instant discounts and welcome coupons when they register the card in ZigzagPay (the app’s in-house payment service). Musinsa rolled out a Samsung Card co-brand offering 10% points back and a higher monthly cap, while W Concept introduced a Samsung co-branded card earlier, awarding W Points and VIP perks. Platforms aim to use card payment data to analyze consumer behavior and encourage repeat purchases by making rewards larger the more customers shop within the platform. Industry observers say PLCCs are a strategic tool to increase repeat buying and platform loyalty.
