Cartier’s ‘Le Chœur des Pierres’ Celebrates a Chorus of Gemstones

Cartier unveiled its high-jewelry collection “Le Chœur des Pierres,” 125 pieces showcased in a 17th-century Provençal house in Saint-Tropez. The collection centers on gemstones as the creative starting point rather than mere decoration: designers select stones for color, shape and emotional presence, then develop designs collaboratively with gemologists, setters and artisans. Works include the Aurora necklace built around five Colombian emeralds with custom-cut turquoise and lapis lazuli arranged radially; the Tellura necklace featuring 30 differently cut diamonds to evoke volcanic energy; and Tutti Kanya, a 30.33-carat Zambian emerald piece in the maison’s “tutti frutti” (Indian carved-jewel inspired) tradition with removable elements and a hidden metal tree at the back. Other highlights: Panthère Kentia with a 50.13-carat Sri Lankan cabochon sapphire and articulated links for movement, Haryma with imperial topazes forming a walking tiger motif, and Tesselia ring centered on a 5.24-carat Mozambican ruby. The collection emphasizes craft (artisanship), bespoke gem cutting, traceability, and wearable engineering that follows the wearer’s curves.
