Gangneung City has launched the ‘Gyeongpo Moonlight Art Show: My Moon’ at the Gyeongpo Ecological Retention Pond near Ojukheon, running daily from 1 PM to 10 PM. The attraction features 17 media art works centered on a 10-meter LED sculpture, offering changing displays by season and time of day. A key free program (2 PM–9 PM) is an interactive AI image-generation experience: visitors under 16 receive AI visuals of their future selves, while those 16 and older see AI-generated images of their childhoods projected onto the large LED. Until the 30th, visitors can get instant experience coupons by scanning on-site QR codes; from the 1st of next month the program shifts to a local business partnership model requiring patrons to visit and verify two participating cafes, restaurants or accommodations to receive a coupon. City officials say the project aims to make the pond a new inland tourism hub, extend visitor stays, and boost the local economy through tech-driven experiences and cooperation with nearby businesses.
