Seoul’s Shilla Hotel is launching two seasonal cocktails at The Library from September 1, inspired by autumn ingredients and traditional Korean liquor. Both drinks use local, seasonal flavors and storytelling to create a premium experience. “Chrysanthemum Citrus Bloom” uses a chrysanthemum-scented makgeolli (traditional rice wine) crafted by renowned brewer Yoon Joo-mo (술빚는 윤주모), blending light citrus notes with the floral makgeolli to evoke autumn. “Fig Velvet Veil” features bourbon with autumn figs and a mascarpone cheese foam for a rich, dessert-like finish. The menu reflects a global trend toward localism in cocktails and the growing popularization of traditional Korean alcohol (전통주) through modern reinterpretation.
