Director Choi Chang-geun Returns with Psychological Drama 'The Force of Fate' After 15 Years

Renowned director Choi Chang-geun, from Samcheok, returns with his first new play in 15 years, The Force of Fate, running at Daehangno’s Theater Koom through the 6th. Known for his debut Spring Day Passes (2001) and award-winning work, Choi explores fate, choice and buried family memories in this intense psychological drama. Set on one summer night—the retirement day of geologist Han Un-sa and the anniversary of his mysteriously deceased son—the play reunites family and old friends as long-avoided truths, guilt, and the possibility of forgiveness surface. Veteran actor Kang Shin-il plays Han Un-sa, with Jo Young-jin as Kim In-sung. The production asks whether fate is predetermined or shaped by our choices and is expected to be one of Daehangno’s most talked-about shows this summer.
