The Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has designated anchovies and mullet as April's seafood of the month. Anchovies, known for their high calcium content, are beneficial for bone health and may help prevent osteoporosis. They can be used as side dishes, broth, or a seasoning sauce called 'jeotgal'. Mullet, often referred to as 'barley mullet' in April-May, was considered a delicacy for Korean royalty and is rich in nutrients, especially iron, helping to prevent anemia. Mullet can be eaten raw or cooked in spicy stew, fried, or grilled.
