Yeoncheon County will hold the 11th Jangnam ‘Wishing for Unification’ Festival from Sept. 3–6 at the Horogoru historic site. The festival, themed around unification and peace with sunflowers, features a floral garden of sunflowers, zinnias (백일홍), and cosmos, opening ceremonies with traditional percussion parade and choir, hands-on activities like face painting, woodworking, and keychain making, and a farmers’ market selling fresh local produce. Organizers moved the schedule earlier due to unusually early sunflower blooms from heat. The event aims to offer family-friendly experiences and attract visitors to enjoy the scenery and community spirit.
