Gimbap Festival Sparks Gimbap-Themed Street in Gimcheon

Gimcheon City is creating a gimbap-specialty street to turn its popular Gimbap Festival into sustainable tourism. The roughly 250-meter stretch opposite Gimcheon Station will receive themed additions—murals, a signature gate, photo zones, and night lighting—to attract visitors and boost the old downtown. Participating shops can get up to 10 million won in remodeling and rent support. The city is recruiting businesses (restaurants, cafes, and shops selling gimbap-themed goods and souvenirs) through September 7. (gimbap: a Korean rice-and-ingredient roll wrapped in seaweed)
