In February 2025, South Korea saw a 10.5% increase in foreign visitors compared to the same month last year, reaching 1,138,408 tourists, which is 94.7% of the 2019 levels. While China remained the largest source of visitors, the number of Chinese tourists declined by 0.8%, totaling 340,860. In contrast, the number of tourists from Japan, Taiwan, the USA, Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines and Indonesia showed double-digit growth. Experts suggest tailored marketing strategies for key markets to further boost tourism. Meanwhile, South Korean outbound tourism saw a 4.5% increase, driven by expanded flight routes and eased travel regulations.
