As marriage interest rises among Koreans in their 20s–30s, grooms-to-be (예랑) are shifting from flashy one-day outfits to buying one high-quality suit that fits their body and can be worn after the wedding to business events and ceremonies. Brands report strong growth: Maestro’s wedding-suit sales up ~50% year-on-year and MTM (made-to-measure) suit sales also up ~50%, while searches for “wedding suit” and “suit” rose online. Retailers use a two-track strategy—premium Italian fabrics for luxury lines and fresh designs for younger buyers—plus expanded MTM services to adjust shoulders, waists, and sleeve lengths. Fitness trends are changing silhouettes: the popular look is now an X-shaped fit—broad shoulders and chest with a tapered waist—driven by more muscular customers; Cambridge Members’ new “Leeds Fit” targeting developed upper bodies saw strong uptake. With fewer occasions to wear suits daily due to casual work trends and tighter household budgets, buyers prioritize long-term value (“value over cheapness”), fabric quality, and proper fit. The bridal-suit market is thus returning, but with personalized, premium choices rather than traditional one-off wedding attire.
