Soprano Kang Miso will hold a homecoming recital on Sept 12 at Yeongsan Art Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. A graduate of Seoul National University and the Peabody Conservatory (professional performance), Kang has won multiple competitions and performed leading roles in operas such as Suor Angelica and The Swallow. She continues active collaborations with orchestras like Chuncheon Symphony and Mostly Philharmonic. Accompanied by pianist Jeong Seowan (accompanist at Korea National University of Arts and Seoul National University), her program spans classical, Romantic and modern English art songs, featuring Handel, Grieg, Duparc in Part I and Liszt and Landon Ronald in Part II. Inquiry: Phil Company (010-2510-3504). Organists Kim Jisung and Park Sunghyun present a duo concert “Doublette” on Sept 15 at Yeongsan Art Hall. “Doublette” (French for “double”) is also the name of a 2-foot flute stop (organ tone) and symbolizes two players sharing one organ to create new music. Kim, a professor at Seoul Theological University, has performed over 2,000 times in 75 countries and is a leading Asian organist. Park, the first Korean winner of the 14th Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in Russia, studied at the Cologne University of Music. The pair will showcase a diverse program from Baroque to Romantic and contemporary works. Inquiry: YoungEum Arts (02-581-5404).
