Spanish retailer ZARA opened a new flagship store in Seoul’s Gangnam, occupying about 2,130 m² (approximately 644 pyeong). The three-story store emphasizes Korean-inspired design and art, featuring a large installation called “Imugi” (a mythological Korean serpent that transforms into a dragon) created with Korean studio OurRavebo, works by local artists, and references to traditional and modern Seoul architecture. Amenities include a ZACAFFE (Zara’s café), outdoor terrace, curated Korean books, 26 fitting rooms with RFID tech, dedicated pickup and returns areas, and optimized layouts for men's and women's sections. Inditex executives highlighted Korea’s growing global importance and high consumer expectations, saying lessons learned in Korea will be shared globally. Collaborations with designers like John Galliano and ongoing store refreshes were also mentioned.
