Skyscanner survey finds Korean travelers favor 'clean nature, local food and lifestyle, and reasonable cost' over flashy photo spots compared with three years ago. Among 1,000 respondents, 56% said pleasant weather and pristine natural scenery became more important, while only 30% prioritized visiting famous landmarks. Concerns about crowds and traffic (41%) pushed travelers toward quieter nature trips and road trips—Skyscanner recommends Ulsan (e.g., Ganyeoljae silver grass fields and coastal rock beaches) for domestic nature escapes. Interest in local seasonal food (38%) and experiencing local lifestyle (32%) rose, while social-media photo hunting fell to 23%. For overseas options, Kaohsiung (Taiwan) is highlighted for night markets and arts districts, and Khao Lak (Thailand) for private beaches, pool villas, and nature activities. Though 27% would choose luxury resort relaxation if budget allowed, 48% now prioritize cost-effectiveness and 56% are willing to pick alternative destinations with similar appeal to save money. The overall trend: Chuseok travel is becoming a time for genuine rest, local immersion, and nature rather than checklist tourism.
