A GS25 convenience store’s new ‘Mango Cream Choco-Crack Salt Bread’ caught a reporter’s eye thanks to packaging that noted “a portion of proceeds will be donated to stray dog shelters.” The product follows the viral “wak-ppu” trend (breaking a hard chocolate or wax coating for satisfying crunch), revealing mango cream inside a chewy salt bread when cracked. The maker, Onsekasero, said founder Park, inspired by his rescued dog Sasha, decided to donate part of profits from several recent products to aid underfunded shelters. Profits from July–August will be given to Harim Pet Food in September to supply snacks and supplies to two Gyeonggi province private shelters. The company plans more own-brand releases and continued donations, helped by pet influencers who promoted the products and the charity note on packaging.
