'2026 Peak Time Festival' for Youth Nationwide to be Held in Gongju on Sept. 12

Chungcheongnam-do and Gongju City will host the 4th national youth festival, '2026 Peak Time Festival,' on Sept. 12 at Geumgangsingwan Park to mark Youth Day (third Saturday of September). A youth planning committee of 15 young people from four Chungcheong region municipalities helped design the event, and Gongju was chosen as the venue through a public selection. The festival links Gongju’s historical and cultural sites and spreads activities across the city from Geumgangsingwan Park to the old downtown. The program begins at 1 PM with an opening dance by local artists, followed by performances from youth artists nationwide. A participatory talk concert, hosted by comedians Shin Yun-seung and Jo Su-yeon, will address youth concerns. The music lineup includes N.Flying, Car, the Garden (Car the Garden), Kwon Jin-ah, and OMO. Gongju will hold a 'Youth-Friendly City' declaration (청년친화도시) and a drone show. 'Job Planning Day' offers mentoring and employment support, while side events include a local produce market ('Baro Market'), a youth policy relay forum, Gongju library book festival and fair, and the '2026 Oh My God Flea Market' in Gongju Hanok Village (한옥마을). Shuttle buses will run between Geumgangsingwan Park and Gongju’s old downtown for attendees.
