Hyundai Department Store will open Khōde, a 165㎡ derma-beauty specialist edit shop, on Oct. 18 at its Pangyo branch. Derma beauty (a blend of dermatology and beauty) focuses on functional skincare backed by medical and bio R&D. Khōde aims to help customers find their personal skin CODE by offering tailored product recommendations rather than just selling items. The 1st store carries about 250 functional beauty brands, including some led by pharmaceutical technology (e.g., Easydew, Madecafarmacia, Adecé) and around 60 dermatologist-developed brands (e.g., Forerdem, Judac). The range also includes functional hair and body products to meet shoppers who compare ingredients and effects closely. Pangyo was chosen for its high share of 30–40s customers and strong demand for high-performance cosmetics, with the shop located on B1 for subway access. Hyundai plans to expand Khōde to other department stores and outlets, open a second store at The Hyundai Seoul early next year, and collaborate with pharmaceutical partners to launch exclusive skincare lines.
