Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will host ‘Gyeonggi FOOD FESTA 2026’ on September 19 at Imjingak Pyeonghwa Nuri (Peace Park). Under the slogan “Gyeonggi’s flavors captivate the world,” the event links to the province’s autumn cultural season and aims to explore new uses for local specialties and combine food with tourism and cultural content. The main program is a Global Fusion Cooking Contest: 60 teams (30 amateur/adult teams in the morning and 30 student teams in the afternoon; 120 participants total) will create dishes using Gyeonggi special ingredients within a time limit. Judging will consider taste, creativity, ingredient use, cooking process, plating, and overall completeness, with a unified awards ceremony after both divisions are scored. The festival also features K-ART (Korean art) experiences, cultural performances, startup counseling, and university counseling to blend food with entrepreneurship, education, and culture. Applications are open through Naver Form until September 4; applicants must submit recipes using Gyeonggi specialties. Event details and finalist notifications are posted on the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization website.
