Night Beach Run Returns to Donghae’s Mangsang Beach from Aug. 28

Donghae Cultural Tourism Foundation will operate the Mangsang Night Run along Mangsang Beach from Aug. 28 through November. The round-trip 5 km course runs between Mangsang Convention Center and Daejin Beach, starting at 7:30 PM and lasting about 1.5 hours. The event, part of a marine tourism and leisure-sports initiative, focuses on finishing rather than racing and splits participants into beginner and intermediate groups. A former national track athlete provides basic running coaching and on-course “running helpers” ensure safety. The spring program (April–June) drew 95 participants, with about 37% from outside the area, suggesting the run can boost longer stays and local tourism. Each night run is limited to 40 entrants on a first-come basis and four sessions are planned through November. (Mangsang is a popular beach area in Donghae.)
