Online fashion retailer MUSINSA apologized after some complimentary beauty products handed out at its ‘MUVUFE in Seongsu’ event were expired or problematic. The issue began when beauty brand KiffinTouch’s ‘Glossy Glow Marine Balm Veiled Lavender’—about 100 units—were found past their use-by date; the brand said discontinued stock was accidentally mixed with regular inventory. Another brand, Too Cool For School, faced complaints about its ‘Dew Blurry Tint’ leaking and being manufactured in 2024; MUSINSA said the tint’s 36-month unopened shelf life meant the date was not the issue and that leakage was due to formulation. MUSINSA has apologized, will allow affected customers to request brand-new replacements via a Google form, and promised stricter product checks for future events. The MUVUFE drew some 31,000 offline visitors and strong online sales, but quality-control lapses raised criticism about event product management.
