Emart plans to open a new store in the Chungcheong region (likely Cheongju) by year-end and will roll out quick-commerce delivery to all 132 stores (currently ~110). The retailer is boosting core offline competitiveness against e-commerce growth by expanding store count, renovating locations, growing private-brand outlets, and launching retail media advertising (RMN) in Trader스 (Trader스 is a store brand). Emart is also participating in the Cheongju Technopolis development and will open a new Traders location in Uijeongbu. Quick-commerce uses SSG.com’s instant service “BaroQuick” and the Baedal Minjok (a delivery app) to take orders from stores for fast delivery; where unavailable, stores will run local delivery systems. Store renovations to formats like Starfield Market have raised sales significantly at renovated branches, supporting confidence in offline investments. Emart aims to continue price, product, and space innovations to strengthen market position and find new growth opportunities.
