Different Artistic Perspectives Connect 'Here and Now'

The artist collective Engagement (앙가쥬망), founded in 1961 by Seoul National University alumni, presents its 67th exhibition 'Here and Now — In Places Facing Each Other' at Chuncheon Culture & Arts Center from Aug 25 to Sep 6. The show brings together 28 artists — 16 Engagement members and 12 Chuncheon-based regional artists — to share and respect diverse artistic viewpoints beyond regional and generational boundaries. Works explore nature and landscape, memory, life and time, and social reflection; highlights include Kim Dae-young's 'Circulation 367 — Song of Red Hope', Kim Je-min's 'Cover Everything', Kim Kyung-ok's 'The Secret Garden I', and Kim Woon-yeon's 'Breathe'. Curator Woo Hyun-ae describes the exhibition not as an end but as a completion of a time, and stresses that the exchanges made here will feed future creativity. The opening is hosted by Engagement with support from the Gangwon Cultural Foundation and Gangwon Province; the show runs through Sep 6 at the Chuncheon venue.
