Pianist with Developmental Disability Kim Cho-ha Shares 'Value of Togetherness' in Hoengseong

On the morning of the 25th, pianist Kim Cho-ha, a musician with a developmental disability and South Korea’s first disabled Electone (electronic organ) performer, will present an ART Concert titled “Artists and Students Together — Art, Story~” at Hoengseong Culture & Arts Center. Supported by Gangwon Province and the Gangwon Cultural Foundation as part of a professional disabled artists’ creative support program, the concert connects music and visual art: local elementary and middle school special-class students pre-listen to the music, paint emotions and images, and then join the stage where their artwork and the musicians’ performance become a unified piece. Local residents contribute across planning, education, art, performance and stage roles to highlight shared community participation. The program features Kim Cho-ha, pianist Jo Byung-hwa, and flutist Kim Mok-in performing a varied repertoire from classical to film, animation and musical music. Kim emphasizes that art is not just for select people and that differing ways of expression each hold unique potential.
