A 6-meter sculpture titled 'The Painter' by British contemporary artist Philip Colbert will be permanently installed at Seoul's Seokchon Lake, debuting to the public on May 1. Known for his vibrant colors and comic elements, Colbert's work has earned him the moniker 'the next Andy Warhol.' His distinctive style often explores themes of identity and the role of art in contemporary society, as seen in his famous lobster series. Alongside this installation, Gallery Lake is hosting an exhibition, 'Journey to Lobster Planet,' until May 11, showcasing 19 of Colbert's new works including a notable 4.5-meter wide reinterpretation of an 'Alexander the Great' mosaic. These events offer an opportunity for Korean audiences to engage with Colbert's unique artistic vision and the messages within his work.
