The world's first 3D creative opera about Yi Sun-sin, a revered Korean naval commander, will be performed from April 25 to 27 at the National Theater of Korea's Haeoreum Grand Theater. This ambitious production by 'E Maestro,' commemorating its 20th anniversary and Yi Sun-sin's 480th birth anniversary, blends music, technology, history, and drama. Pioneering a new 'voice orchestra' format, this opera departs from traditional portrayals of Yi Sun-sin by highlighting his dilemmas and leadership, enriched with cutting-edge stage technologies that create immersive historical battle scenes. Directed by Yang Jae-moo, the production uses real-time 3D rendering and AI-based media art to deliver a groundbreaking fusion of opera and modern technology.
