Exhibition 'Minhwa, Today's Story' at Kim Sejoong Museum

The Kim Sejoong Museum in Seoul is hosting 'Minhwa, Today's Story', an exhibition featuring traditional Korean folk paintings known as 'minhwa'. These paintings, dating back to the Joseon dynasty, are noted for their imaginative and modern flair, free from the constraints of court or noble paintings. Curated by art historian Jeong Byeong-mo, this exhibition aims to spread the popularity and modern reinterpretation of minhwa. It includes works by 15 minhwa artists and is part of a special project to support the museum's development fund. Programs during the exhibition include lectures on influential Korean painters by Jeong Byeong-mo. The exhibit runs until June 20 and coincides with the 'Joseon Minhwa Exhibition' at the nearby Amorepacific Museum, offering a chance to compare traditional and modern minhwa.
