Korean Music Association Calls for Entries to 58th Seoul Music Festival

The Korean Music Association is accepting unpublished contemporary works for the 58th Seoul Music Festival until the 20th. Submissions are open in three categories—solo/vocal, chamber music, and large ensemble—and may include modern techniques or experimental approaches. Selected pieces will be premiered on September 11 at Sejong Chamber Hall (Sejong Center for the Performing Arts). The Seoul Music Festival, Korea’s longest-running new music festival, aims to promote contemporary music and discover emerging composers. An audience award ('Audience Prize') will be given to the most memorable work as voted by attendees, part of efforts to broaden engagement between new music and listeners. The association emphasizes nurturing creative young composers who may go on to national and international careers.
