South Korea’s SPA (specialty retailer of private-label apparel) brand 8SECONDS, part of Samsung C&T Fashion, is repositioning itself as a casual-focused label by launching trend-conscious “strategy” items rather than relying solely on fast turnover and low prices. Key launches for summer include the “Magic Slim T-shirt,” a cooling short-sleeve with a twist detail that sold 80,000 units within three months and lifted sales about 425% year-over-year, and the “All-Day Crease” line using lightweight, naturally wrinkled (crease) fabric offered across jackets, shirts, pullovers, pants and shorts. The All-Day Crease achieved over 80% sell-through in a month and helped boost menswear sales roughly 200% year-over-year. These products improved overall brand performance: double-digit cumulative revenue growth Jan–May, a ~30% increase in new customers in May, and a ~45% rise in reorders from dormant customers. Online presence on the SSF Shop remains strong (top search brand for a year), with notable market share among young shoppers—around 53% of 20s customers on the platform buying 8SECONDS. The company plans to expand colors and lineups and continue focusing on fit, materials and styling to grow brand value.
