CMB Wine Festival Comes to Seoul — Medal-Winning Wines on Taste Preview July 25

Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB), dubbed the “Wine Oscars,” will hold its first-ever Korean festival on July 25 at CMB Wine Experience Korea in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. CMB, founded in 1994 in Brussels, is one of the world’s top wine competitions where roughly 500 international experts blind-judge over 15,000 wines and award Grand Gold, Gold and Silver medals. The one-day festival will feature about 60 medal-winning wines from around the world for consumers and industry guests to taste and buy at discounted prices (advance ticket 35,000 KRW, door 40,000 KRW). Notable highlights announced include Italian Conte Collalto’s Violette Rosé Spumante (Gold), Portugal’s Quinta do Paral Reserva Red, and Hungary’s volcanic-soil Kancellár Estate wines like Furmint (Gold) and Irsai Olivér (Silver). Hong Mi-yeon, CMB’s first Korean juror and Asia ambassador, says the event will appeal to both seasoned wine lovers and newcomers.
