Dakdongari, a chicken-and-pocha (Korean street-tavern) franchise with a 70s–80s retro concept, won the top prize—the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Minister’s Award—at the 2026 Daegu Chimaek (chicken-and-beer) Festival K-Chicken new menu competition. The winning dish, “Avocado Truffle Chicken,” blends creamy avocado with rich truffle flavor. Dakdongari, which previously took gold in 2023 and 2024, stood out for its menu composition and brand differentiation. The company said it will continue menu development and expand nationwide through franchising while offering its signature retro atmosphere and varied menu offerings.
