Homeplus is effectively winding down after a Seoul court ordered the termination of its corporate rehabilitation proceedings. Major food suppliers including Nongshim (ramyeon, snacks) and Seoul Milk stopped deliveries after the decision, citing unpaid invoices; some had continued limited supply on prepayment terms until the ruling. Remaining products on shelves are mostly old inventory or Homeplus private-label items, while stores divest nonfood sections and offer deep discounts. The court gave Homeplus 14 days to secure roughly 200 billion won in emergency operating funds and allowed immediate appeal as a narrow path to revival, but disputes among major stakeholders and widespread supplier withdrawals make recovery unlikely in the near term.
