Nationwide Summer Performing Arts Festivals Unite as 'Arko Sum Festa'

The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service will host the 2026 'Arko Sum Festa' from July to September across Seoul, Busan, Jeju and other regions. The program bundles 15 festivals selected under the national performing arts festival initiative into a single brand, offering curated travel-and-performance routes for friends, couples and families. Events span theatre, dance, music and traditional arts in venues from Daehangno (a Seoul theatre district) to Jeju, Chuncheon, Miryang, Gwangmyeong·Hwaseong and Cheongju. Highlights for friends include the 1st Exit Theatre Festival at Daehangno's Jayu Theatre and the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival; couple-oriented picks feature the July Festival and invited international ballet and dance galas; family-friendly offerings include the National Theatre Festival in Busan and youth theatre in Miryang. A free two-day Preview Week in Daehangno will showcase selected performances, workshops and outdoor showcases at Marronnier Park, with online reservation via Naver. Organizers say the goal is to promote performance venues and festivals as summer travel destinations and broaden audience choices.
