Long-abandoned Dosan Training Center in Chuncheon to Become Resort and Hotel, Opening in 2031

Chuncheon city has revived the long-stalled Dosan training center site with a major hotel and resort development including a 250-room resort, 200-room hotel, and a large international convention hall. Hotel Shilla will operate the facilities under an MOU, influencing design and standards. The project, backed by a special purpose company with investors including Doosan Enerbility, KayREITs, and SangSangin Securities, will add terrace-style pool villas and an infinity pool overlooking Uiamho (Uiam Lake). Construction permitting and procurement will proceed with contractor selection by 2028 and completion targeted for 2031. The city expects the project to address abandoned structures, restore lake scenery, expand high-end lodging, and boost conference tourism.
