Gangneung Hosts UNESCO Creative Cities 'Gangneung Gastronomy Forum' on the 8th

Gangneung City will hold the UNESCO Creative Cities 'Gangneung Gastronomy Forum' on the 8th at 2 PM at Myeongju Arts Madang (performance hall). The forum, themed 'Discussing the Identity and Direction of Gangneung Gastronomy,' will feature a keynote lecture by producer Lee Uk-jeong titled 'Conditions of a Gastronomy City' and a roundtable on 'Sustainability of Gangneung Gastronomy.' The event is open to all residents and anyone interested in Gangneung's food culture; participants can register via Google Form or on-site. The city aims to share a vision and development strategies, increase public understanding and participation in gastronomy-city policies, strengthen public-private cooperation, and reflect forum suggestions in future policy to build an effective gastronomy creative city. Hong Sam-nyeo, director of culture and arts, said the forum will both share the current state of the local gastronomic industry and lay groundwork for future actions to turn Gangneung’s culinary assets into urban branding and tourism competitiveness.
