Jeon Hwa-seong, head of the Korea Association of Initial Investment Accelerators (KAIA) and CEO of CNT Tech, premiered his sixth film Batch: Growth at CGV Wangsimni in Seoul. The film, which he wrote and directed, depicts the role of accelerators (startup support organizations) that seed early-stage startups. Jeon, who has invested in some 580 startups through CNT Tech and taught startup investment and business models at universities, said he wanted to showcase the social value of accelerators. A prolific figure, Jeon is also an author, weekly lecturer, and daily YouTuber of “Startup Morning Coffee.” CNT Tech plans a KOSDAQ listing this year; the firm’s cumulative investments exceed 100 billion KRW and last year’s revenue was 31.2 billion KRW. Jeon plans a sequel, Batch: Growth 2, and believes early-stage investment plants seeds that will change the world.
