Korean Dancers Win Top Honors at Moscow 'Ballet Olympics'

Three Korean dancers captured first-place titles at the 15th Moscow International Ballet Competition, often called the 'Ballet Olympics.' In the senior duet categories held at the Bolshoi Theatre, Kim Min-jin won gold in the women’s duet and Lee Kang-won won gold in the men’s duet, each becoming the first Koreans to claim those titles. In the junior division, Park Keunbyeolbit took first place in the junior men’s solo. The Moscow competition, founded in 1969 at the Bolshoi Theatre, is held every four years and is internationally renowned alongside contests like the Jackson, Varna, and Lausanne competitions. The winners train at prominent Korean arts schools: Kim and Lee study at Korea National University of Arts, and Park attends the Korea National Institute for Gifted Arts.
