Hugel has started selling Hans Biomed’s extracellular matrix (ECM) skin booster 'CellrDM' after receiving permission to establish a tissue bank from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Hugel signed a distribution and sales deal with Hans Biomed in April and will leverage its strong dermatology and cosmetic clinic channels together with Hans Biomed’s ties to plastic surgery to rapidly expand distribution. CellrDM, derived from human tissue ECM, requires a tissue bank license for distribution. Since its launch in September, CellrDM recorded cumulative sales of 8.1 billion KRW through March and currently supplies over 600 clinics; Hugel expects to reach more than 2,000 hospitals by year-end and aims for 20–25 billion KRW in sales by September. Production is being scaled up from about 42,000 units per month to 80,000 by year-end. The current market leader in the domestic ECM skin booster market is L&C Bio’s 'Retuo' (리투오), which posted 8 billion KRW in Q1 and plans to expand monthly capacity to 150,000 units by October. The Hugel–Hans Biomed partnership could reshape the market into a two-horse race.
