Ticket Proceeds from Ballet 'The Little Mermaid' to Aid Global Crisis Areas

K-Global Ballet School and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) will donate part of the ticket proceeds from a performance of the original ballet 'The Little Mermaid' to support crisis-affected regions worldwide. The designated performance takes place on the 11th at Hwaseong Arts Center (2nd show, 7 PM). This is the pair’s second collaboration; last December they ran a ballet masterclass to support the only hospital in Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp. Most proceeds from tickets sold through the IRC’s dedicated booking link will be donated to emergency relief, medical care, education and livelihoods for people affected by conflict, climate crises and disasters. Tickets purchased via the link receive a 20% discount across all price tiers with no purchase limit. Dancer Seong Jae-seung, who recently won the grand prize at the Helsinki International Ballet Competition, will perform as the Prince in this charity performance; fellow cast members include Kim Min-jin (The Little Mermaid), Lee Hyun-jun (The Witch) and Yoo Ju-hyung (The Sea King). The ballet, a reinterpretation of Hans Christian Andersen’s tale, runs on the 11th and 12th at Hwaseong Arts Center. IRC Korea representative Lee Eun-young and K-Global Ballet deputy director Kim Sun-hee stated the partnership aims to raise awareness and solidarity for people in crisis through the arts.
