Life-Size 'Straw Hat Luffy' and Immersive Water Media: One Piece Exhibition Lands in Jeju

A large-scale, immersive One Piece exhibition, 'One Piece: Pirate Era Asia Tour,' opened in Jeju’s Seogwipo Water World and runs for about six months until January 3. The show combines real shallow water (about 20 cm) with large-scale visuals, sound and water effects so visitors literally walk through scenes from the manga’s storyline — from Loguetown to Reverse Mountain, Alabasta, Skypiea, Impel Down and Fish-Man Island. Jeju’s edition debuts new zones for Egghead Island and Elbaph and features life-size character figures and photo spots, including recreated iconic scenes like Whitebeard and Ace’s tomb and the mermaid Shirahoshi. Organized by INCUBASE Studio with media-tech partner Dotmill, the project repurposes an unused Water World into an experiential media art space and emphasizes immersive, participatory storytelling rather than behind-the-scenes explanations. Organizers hope this unique water-walking experience will draw fans and position Jeju as a hub for global IP-based tourism content.
