Shinsegae Department Store Hosts Ceramic Exhibition by Kim Ik-young Through August

Shinsegae Department Store is presenting a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Kim Ik-young titled “Landscape of White” at The Heritage gallery in its main Seoul store through August 30. The show—part of the House of Shinsegae’s series highlighting Korean materials—features around 80 works including the artist’s signature sculptural pieces and functional white porcelain (baekja) tableware. A new multifaceted piece called “San” expands the formal beauty of white porcelain with a contemporary sensibility. Admission is free, and a linked gift shop on B1 offers related tableware and accessories. The retailer says the exhibition aims to demonstrate how traditional Korean ceramics continue to live in modern daily life and to offer fresh cultural experiences rooted in Korean materials.
