Lampas Ensemble Concert and Pianist Ayoung Won Recital

The Lampas Ensemble will perform on the 7th at Yeongsan Art Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Formed in 2023, Lampas (Latin for "light") is a group of Christian musicians who aim to brighten the world with harmonious performances. Many members are prize-winning artists who returned to Korea after studying abroad and now teach while performing actively. The program, with commentary by CBS announcer Sim Gi-sik, features organist Lee Woong-hee, pianists Kim Do-young and Moon Hyung-jin, violinists Heo Eun-hye and Han Ga-hyun, cellist Kim Da-hye, flutist Jo Ah-ra, and clarinetist Park Jae-sung. Works include Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances” (arr. Moon), Astor Piazzolla’s “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires” (Winter and Spring), and Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.”
Pianist Ayoung Won will give a solo recital on the 14th at the same hall. Trained at Seoul National University, the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich (master’s and Konzertexamen), and the Basel Music Academy (Konzertexamen), Won has won numerous competitions and performed across Europe. Back in Korea she teaches and performs solo and chamber music as a member of the Illang Quartet since 2022. Her program, subtitled “To You,” includes Bach’s Toccata in G and Capriccio on the Farewell to a Beloved Brother, Haydn’s Andante and Variations in F minor, Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 11 (including the “Turkish March”), and Schumann’s Grand Sonata in F minor.
