Designer Wins Top Prize for Posture-Correcting Underwear

Hwang Min-ji, founder of InnerMind, won the grand prize at the 27th Women’s Startup Competition held by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups for developing a posture-correcting undergarment called the “PostureCare Bra” (자세펴브라). As a long-time artist, she noticed many people suffering from forward-head posture and cervical issues, and designed daily-wear underwear to gently guide bones like the scapula into natural positions while relaxing shortened muscles. Trials with AI body-analysis firm Fitrix showed improvements after one month: about 1 degree reduction in forward-head posture and roughly 4.5 cm improvement in rounded shoulders. The product aims to be an easy, wearable solution for posture care.
