A documentary starring world-class dancer Go Ara, who was born in Hongcheon and is hearing-impaired, is being specially screened at Hongcheon Cinema through the 14th. The film traces her intense artistic journey as she learns to feel music through body vibrations and precise counting to create her own rhythm, culminating in a memorable solo performance combining sign language and dance at the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics closing ceremony. It opens with Go Ara—now a mother—singing a lullaby for her child and carefully documents how everyday sounds (breathing, footfalls) are woven into her personal beats. Hongcheon Cultural Foundation hopes residents will learn about and empathize with this local talent; discounted tickets are available for youth and military personnel.
