The National Museum Cultural Foundation has released a new line of museum goods (뮤즈) tied to the National Museum of Korea’s special exhibition “Our Table” (우리들의 밥상). The collection focuses on tableware inspired by key exhibits such as the hobokban (호족반, a traditional Korean dining tray) and scenes from genre paintings, and includes bowls, plates, table mats, and practical picnic lunch sets. Notably, the project collaborated with four developmentally disabled artists from HeartHeart Art & Culture, who reinterpreted scenes from Kim Hong-do’s genre paintings and traditional objects into lively, lyrical, and modern designs. Partnerships with Korean brands produced items such as ceramic sets with Korea Ceramic (한국도자기), a 12-sided hobokban–inspired table mat and reinterpretations of a bronze spoon (from the Muryeong King’s tomb) with Costic (코스틱), and insulated lunchboxes with living brand Ssuim (쓰임). The Korean Food Promotion Institute contributed recycled glass traditional wine cups, adding an eco-friendly element. The foundation says the goods aim to extend the exhibition’s message about Korean food culture into everyday life. The “Our Table” exhibition runs through October 25; the goods are available at the museum shop and online.
