Inje Korean Poetry Museum Hosts Immersive Traditional Garden Media-Art Exhibition

The Inje Korean Poetry Book Museum is running a special exhibition, “Mieumwanbo: Strolling the Source of Poetic Heart,” through the 31st. Using traditional garden-themed immersive media content produced with the Cultural Heritage Administration, the show interprets the aesthetics and philosophy of Korean gardens through video art. Three wall projections include waterfall and valley footage, digitally reconstructed pavilions and palace gardens based on 3D scans and point clouds, and a ‘tea-garden view’ sequence that simulates sitting on a wooden floor (maru). The exhibition pairs these visuals with classical poems praising Inje’s nature and offers a hands-on postcard station where visitors can copy (handwrite) old poems about the region. “Mieumwanbo” (meaning “softly murmuring while walking slowly”) evokes the traditional practice of strolling gardens to reflect and commune with nature.
