Daegu 'Chimaek' Festival Kicks Off July 1 at Duryu Park

The 2026 Daegu Chimaek (chicken and beer) Festival, a major summer event in Daegu, opens July 1 and runs through July 5 around Duryu Park. The opening ceremony at 7:30 PM on July 1 at 2.28 Square features a giant illuminated chimaek globe symbolizing the festival’s globalization, followed by performances from top artists and rock bands throughout the event. The park streets will host attractions such as a chimaek amusement zone and a flea market zone with hands-on activities for visitors. An AI-based festival platform will provide event information, location-based maps, multilingual AI chatbot services, and a dedicated space for international tourists.
